New dogs to meet...
And play with.
Greetings in these circumstances can be quite challenging. New people and distractions can add to the excitement level and it makes it harder for the dog to show some self-control.
Not to worry, though, she handled it like a pro. Her greetings were so nice with people and she got a lot of compliments on her polite behavior.
Ok, there was the one instance where someone was holding GiGi in their lap and she had to get up close and personal to her. But really, with everything that was going on in the situation, she did really, really well.
She had a great time playing with her new friends. She tried hard to keep up with everyone.
We threw in lots of recall sessions to help break up the play if things were getting too wound up. Her recalls were awesome.
She came running no matter what the distraction...she even came off of a cat.
When she needed a break, she would find a toy and sit by herself...usually close to me.
But she did on occasion, sidle on up to someone new.
